Shadow-Yokozuna of the Pre-Open Era

.
The Yokozuna tennis statistics start with the open era in 1968, as previously pro- and amateur-tours existed simultanously, with the best players split between both types of competitions. Nonetheless, the Yokozuna tennis criteria can also be applied to the pre-open era. The players who satisfied the Yokozuna promotion criteria between 1919 and 1968 are listed below. Some all-time legends like Pancho Gonzales are missing, as they played on the pro-tour for most of their careers.

Ken Rosewall, Rod Laver, John Newcombe, Margaret Court and Billie Jean King met the Yokozuna promotino criteria both in the pre-open and in the open era--hence they are Shadow-Yokozuna as well as Yokozuna.
